Clinical History:
A 62 year old man with a yellow-tan, ulcerated plaque (3.5cm in diameter) on the
right side of the face. The tumour was excised with a 2cm margin.
Further examination of the patient showed no evidence of any internal visceral
neoplasm or any other associated cutaneous lesion.
The patient had no family history of any visceral malignancy.
Special Stains:
Frozen section stained with Oil red O shows abundant lipid within the
vacuolated cells.
Immunohistochemistry:
The tumour cells show positive reaction for epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)
but is negative for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and S100 protein.
