Clinical History: A 58 year old female presented with a painless , slow growing firm mass
at the anteromedial aspect of the left upper thigh.
A-P radiograph revealed a nonspecific soft tissue mass.
Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed a well circumscribed intramuscular lesion
with intrinsic high water content and a surrounding pseudocapsule. The tumour is completely excised.
Gross findings: (click on the image)
Macroscopically the tumour is well circumscribed, ovoid shaped (12cm in maximal dimension)
with a mucoid
glistening cut surface. The tumour mass is covered by tan brown
muscle tissue.
