Answer -  Trichoadenoma

 

 

Trichoadenoma of Nikolowski is a rare, benign, well differentiated, slowly growing tumour of the hair follicle which was first described in 1958 by Nikolowski.

Site: Face and buttocks. Clinically presents as a solitary papule/nodule.

Microscopic features:

Well circumscribed dermal tumour ;

Multiple squamous islands most of which have a central cystic cavity showing epidermoid keratinization ;

Features resemble multiple cross-section of infundibular portion of hair follicles.

Variant: 

Verrucous trichoadenoma-  Clinically resemble seborrheic keratosis ;

Composed of small epidermoid cysts ;

Abundant keratin on the epidermal surface.
