Elastotic nodules of the ears are usually present on the antihelix of the ear. These lesions present as bilateral small pale papules and nodules.

These are sometimes located on the helix and may resemble chondrodermatitis nodularis chronica helicis.

This distinctive entity occurs on the ears in response to chronic actinic damage.

Clinically, this lesion may be misdiagnosed as basal cell carcinoma or some infiltrative process such as gout or amyloid.

Histologically, there is elastotic degeneration within the dermis.Coarse, clumps of elastotic material are prominent. Verhoeff-Van Gieson stain (Elastic stain) is positive.
