Nerve sheath myxoma (Neurothekeoma) is a benign peripheral nerve sheath tumor that rarely occurs in the external auditory canal.

Neurothekeomas are most commonly located on the upper extremities and the head and neck. They may also occur on the trunk, the lower extremities, and mucosa.

Microscopically, this is a multinodular mass composed of spindle and stellate-shaped cells with a myxoid background.

Immunohistochemical studies are consistent with a nerve sheath neoplasm.
