Pathology of Granulomatous Uveitis

Granulomatous uveitis can be produced by tuberculosis, leprosy , syphilis , sarcoid,  brucellosis , toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, varicella zoster virus, fungi, parasites or Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome.

In granulomatous uveitis, large yellowish-white cells are visible on the back of the cornea, and possibly some small nodules on the iris.

Granulomatous uveitis is usually less acute than the nongranulomatous form.

The eye is only mildly inflamed and the patient's vision is somewhat blurred.
