Dr Sampurna Roy MD

Genital leiomyomas include vulval, scrotal and nipple leiomyomas.

These are noted in adults.

Vulval leiomyomas are located  in labia majora.

Scrotal leiomyoma arises from dartos muscle.

Nipple leiomyoma arises from areolar smooth muscle.

Microscopically , scrotal leiomyomas are ill defined focally infiltrative lesions.

These are more cellular lesions with occasional mitosis and may be associated with lymphoid aggregates.

Degenerative atypical nuclear features may be present.

Vulvar leiomyomas are well circumscribed lesions characterized by fascicles of spindle cells and myxohyaline degeneration.
